Characterizing the Downlink Transmission Power for WCDMA Networks in Multiservice Environments
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper characterizes the downlink transmission power for WCDMA networks in multiservice environments for both urban and suburban macro cells. To calculate the required transmission power for the user in the cell, various modeling approaches are used to investigate the orthogonality, the path loss, and the inter-cell interference ratio of the user. The variation and scattering pattern of the required transmission power for each service connection are observed as a function of distance between the base station (BS) and the mobile station (MS). The phenomena and their explanations presented in the paper concerning the WCDMA downlink power issues are important for the power control and admission control of the system. Location- and Service-Aware Downlink Transmission Power Allocation in WCDMA-Based Cellular Networks
Power constitutes an essential controllable resource for the improvement of the radio link performance in WCDMA-based cellular networks. In addition, complementary to traditional services, location based services (LBS) have emerged as a growing area for mobile service providers bringing in the foreground the potential for a locationaware resource management. To this effect, this paper addresses...
متن کاملBackhaul-Aware Decoupled Uplink and Downlink User Association, Subcarrier Allocation, and Power Control in FiWi HetNets
Decoupling the uplink and downlink user association improves the throughput of heterogeneous networks (HetNets) and balances the traffic load of macro- and small- base stations. Recently, fiber-wireless HetNets (FiWi-HetNets) have been considered as viable solutions for access networks. To improve the accuracy of user association and resource allocation algorithms in FiWi-HetNets, the capacity ...
متن کاملOptimisation of Downlink Resource Allocation Algorithms for UMTS Networks
Recent interest in resource allocation algorithms for multiservice CDMA networks has focused on algorithms optimising the aggregate uplink or downlink throughput, sum of all individual throughputs. For a given set of real-time (RT) and non-real-time (NRT) communications services, an upper bound of the uplink throughput has recently been obtained. In this paper, we give the upper bound for the d...
متن کاملAdmission and GoS Control in Multiservice WCDMA System
We consider in this paper a WCDMA system with two types of calls: real time (RT) calls that have dedicated resources, and data non-real time (NRT) calls that are treated using a time-shared channel (such as the HDR or the HSDPA). We consider reservation of some resources for the NRT traffic and assume that this traffic is further assigned the resources left over from the RT traffic. The grade o...
متن کاملA Non-homogeneous QBD Approach for the Admission and GoS Control in a Multiservice WCDMA System
We consider a WCDMA system with real time (RT) calls that have dedicated resources, and data non-real-time (NRT) calls that share system capacity. We apply reservation of some resources for the NRT traffic and assume that this traffic is further assigned the resources unused by RT calls. The grade of service (GoS) of RT traffic is also controlled in order to allow for handling more RT calls dur...
